Nagano Tokyo: Snow Monkey Private Day Tour Hotel Pickup and Drop-Off — the one whose title says Tokyo and whose itinerary says Nagano
4.81 · 126 REVIEWS ON GETYOURGUIDE · LUXURIOUS TRAVEL MASTER
Sold as «Nagano Tokyo», $526 (≈¥82,100) for up to five. The itinerary published on the listing gives one pickup location — Nagano — and returns to Nagano. There is no Tokyo leg in it.
- FOR
- Anyone already in Nagano who wants a private car for the day and reads the itinerary rather than the title.
- NOT FOR
- Anyone in Tokyo expecting to be collected there. Ask before booking; the operator answers on WhatsApp and the listing invites it.
- THE CATCH
- $526 (≈¥82,100) is a Tokyo price. From Nagano the same money buys a whole day of private car for a journey that is under two hours each way.

Prices, scores and review counts are a snapshot of 7 Sep 2026 from the operator’s GetYourGuide listing. Converted at ¥156 = $1, the rate on that date. Itinerary durations are the operator’s own.

¥5,100 (≈$33) by train or ¥6,800 (≈$44) by express bus from Nagano Station, both including the ¥800 (≈$5.1) entry and the return — the park’s own totals. What that does not buy is the guide, the lunch or anything else on the list to the left.

1 pickup points, no road publishedThis operator prints an hour against each destination and not one minute between them. That is not an omission to complain about — it is the shape of the product, and the pickup list is the reason.

The road is the part the operator does not publish. It names one pickup point, Nagano, then gives an hour to each stop and no minutes between them — so the drive out from Nagano and back is the largest thing on this page without a number.
What the scores say — three numbers, not one star
guide 4.9GetYourGuide publishes the overall score across every review, and sub-scores once a listing has enough of them. Shown on a 4.0–5.0 scale so they can be told apart.
Reading it: this tour’s lowest of the three is value for money at 4.7. Across the catalogue, value for money is the lowest score a listing publishes in 12 of the 16 tours that publish any. The thin ticks are those catalogue averages.

«It was a long day. We were on the road for a total of 13 hours. One hour with the Snow Monkeys without snow, because it was summer, and we spent a good hour in a large temple complex. The rest was driving time. The driver was GREAT; he was relaxed on the road.»5 ★Thomas R. · Germany · August 9, 2026
«Chima was an excellent driver and guide. We saw so many monkeys! The long drive from Tokyo was well worth the experience with the monkeys. We were worried that we wouldn’t see many because it is late July, but there were probably more than 75! Highly recommend!»5 ★Jodie · Canada · July 27, 2026
«We had a four hour ride to see the Snow Monkeys. Veer was a great driver. Our hotel was by Disney so we didn’t have much extra time to do anything else. It didn’t matter, it was worth the drive just to spend 45 minutes or more taking pictures and viewing the monkeys. We ate lunch in the Enza restaurant that was right a»5 ★Roger · United States · July 25, 2026
«We had an amazing day. Our driver Cheema was very kind and accommodating! He kindly explained many different parts of the tour to us and was even kind enough to allow extra time for us to look around the temple. I would highly recommend this tour.»5 ★Jasmine · United Kingdom · July 23, 2026

Is the $526 (≈¥82,100) tour worth it?
Against ¥5,100–6,800 (≈$33–44) for the same journey alone, it buys hotel pickup and drop-off included, private transportation in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, complimentary wi-fi throughout the tour. 126 reviewers rate it 4.81, and its lowest sub-score is value for money at 4.7.
How much time is spent with the monkeys?
The operator does not publish a segment breakdown for this tour, so this page does not state one.
Is the park entry included?
No. Adults pay ¥800 (≈$5.1) and children ¥400 (≈$2.6) at the gate on the day.
Are the monkeys guaranteed?
No. Park staff work to attract the monkeys during opening hours, but the monkeys may not show up at all on certain days; appearances are particularly sporadic in autumn — no operator and no price changes that.
Are the reviews on this page representative?
No, and we say so: they are 4 of the 8 reviews GetYourGuide shows first, out of 126. The platform surfaces its best-rated first. What can be read honestly is the overall score and the sub-scores, which it computes across all of them.
If the shape of the day suits you, this is where to book it — live dates and the operator’s own calendar, at the price above.
