Alone, as a couple or as three, the cheapest thing you can book in that listing is $545 (≈¥85,000) for the car. The $128 (≈¥20,000) simply cannot be paid by fewer than four.

Leave when you like, stay at the pool until the light goes, add the miso brewery or skip Zenkō-ji. BUT — the park's winter gate still closes at 16:00, and the trail is still 25–40 minutes each way.
Families with small children
No coach seats to police, a warm car to retreat to, ¥400 (≈$2.6) entry for 6–17 and free under 6. BUT — strollers aren't allowed on the trail; a child walks it or is carried.
