November 23: Ebisu-ko Fireworks & Snow Monkey Tour — a tour that exists for one date in the year
4.11 · 10 REVIEWS ON GETYOURGUIDE · MACHINOVATE JAPAN LTD.
23 November, and no other day: the Ebisu-kō fireworks in Nagano city with a reserved seat, wrapped around a morning at the park. The gate fee and lunch are in the price.
- FOR
- Anyone in Nagano on 23 November. The fireworks are the 120th running and they start at 18:00, which is two hours after the park closes in November.
- NOT FOR
- Anyone on any other date — there is nothing to book — and anyone hoping for good pool odds. November is one of the two months the park itself warns about.
- THE CATCH
- Value for money is 4.0, the lowest sub-score anywhere in this catalogue, on ten reviews. At $217 (≈¥33,900) it is also the highest advertised per-person price here — though three Nagano days cost one adult more than that once the car stops being halved.

Prices, scores and review counts are a snapshot of 7 Sep 2026 from the operator’s GetYourGuide listing. Converted at ¥156 = $1, the rate on that date. Itinerary durations are the operator’s own.
What the $217 (≈¥33,900) buys — and what it doesn’t
Entry includedBoth lists are the operator’s own.
INCLUDED

- Snow Monkey Park entrance fee
- Lunch (vegetarian option is available)
- Reserved seat at the Ebisu-ko Fireworks Festival

NOT INCLUDED

- Any guarantee the monkeys come down — park staff work to attract the monkeys during opening hours, but the monkeys may not show up at all on certain days
¥5,100 (≈$33) by train or ¥6,800 (≈$44) by express bus from Nagano Station, both including the ¥800 (≈$5.1) entry and the return — the park’s own totals. What that does not buy is the guide, the lunch or anything else on the list to the left.
$217 vs ¥5,100–6,800Where the paid day goes, in minutes
2 h 10 at the park of 9 h 30The operator publishes its itinerary by segment. Laid end to end and to scale, this is what a seat buys. It isn’t a complaint — it’s what the product is.
Every segment, in minutes
- Bus/coach · 1 h 20
- Jigokudani Monkey Park · 2 h 10
- Local restaurant · 1 h
- Bus/coach · 1 h 10
- Nagano · 3 h 20
- Bus/coach · 30 min
The park segment is 2 h 10, which is generous. What you are paying the extra for is the reserved seat at the fireworks, and whether that is worth $76 (≈¥11,900) over the ordinary Nagano day is a question only the date can answer.
What the scores say — three numbers, not one star
value for money 4.0GetYourGuide publishes the overall score across every review, and sub-scores once a listing has enough of them. Shown on a 4.0–5.0 scale so they can be told apart.
Reading it: this tour’s only published sub-score is value for money at 4.0. Across the catalogue, value for money is the lowest score a listing publishes in 12 of the 16 tours that publish any. The thin ticks are those catalogue averages.

The team was quick thinking and helped the tour group to reach the destination in time to view the fireworks despite the huge crowd. «While the guides were great & the tour well run, both the Snow Monkey Park & Fireworks were pretty disappointing. The Park's hot springs area where the Snow Monkeys are expected to be hanging out is more like a cemented zoo patio with cables running along the sides. 2 Snow Monkeys walked through but, not anything like »2 ★GetYourGuide traveler · United States · November 28, 2025

Is the $217 (≈¥33,900) per person tour worth it?
Against ¥5,100–6,800 (≈$33–44) for the same journey alone, it buys transport from / to nagano and between all listed destinations / activities, snow monkey park entrance fee, lunch (vegetarian option is available). 10 reviewers rate it 4.11, and its lowest sub-score is value for money at 4.0.
How much time is spent with the monkeys?
2 h 10 at the park by the operator’s own itinerary, and that includes the 1.6–2 km trail in and out.
Is the park entry included?
Yes — the ¥800 (≈$5.1) adult ticket is in the price.
Are the monkeys guaranteed?
No. Park staff work to attract the monkeys during opening hours, but the monkeys may not show up at all on certain days; appearances are particularly sporadic in autumn — no operator and no price changes that.
Are the reviews on this page representative?
There are only 10 reviews in total, which is too few to read a crowd from. Treat them as 10 people.
If the shape of the day suits you, this is where to book it — live dates and the operator’s own calendar, at the price above.
